On Friday 20th – Sabbath 21st August, the Village SDA Church will host a COVID, Coercion, and Conscience weekend. National speakers such as Dr. Peter McCullough, Professor Bruce Cameron, and Dr. Lela Lewis, together with other presenters, will address topics such as COVID vaccine safety concerns, your rights under US employment law relating to employer vaccination mandates, and the ethics of coercion and responding to employer vaccine mandates. Pastors Ron Kelly and Conrad Vine will be preaching on the Sabbath morning. Email any questions you wish raised with the speakers during the FAQ and panel sessions to firstname.lastname@example.org. The event will be live-streamed and can be accessed later from the www.villagesda.org website.
The COVID: Coercion and Conscience symposium is an attempt to hold a Christian dialogue regarding some of the most challenging issues of our day. Every effort is being made to construct a culture of respect, honesty, and truth-seeking for the scheduled subject matter. In keeping with these goals, we reject all attempts to sensationalize or scandalize circumstances or people associated with the growing pains of planning or presenting on this topic. We value and cherish the Seventh-day Adventist church and are working in concert with the appropriate organizational structures.
Scientific endeavor is a journey of discovery that encourages dialogue and requires an open and honest evaluation of the data available. It is an unending process of learning, nurtured in an uncensored environment, where yesterday’s hypotheses are critically evaluated against today’s evidence. As such, this is neither an anti-vaccination, nor pro-vaccination event, rather it is a call to the full engagement of human agency in decision making, an effort to protect freedom of conscience, freedom of speech, and freedom to discover the truth in a responsible, faith-grounded community.
We encourage all who watch or participate in-person to join the Village leadership team in praying for the Spirit of Truth to guide throughout the symposium.
